On 21-22 of March, in Borjomi (Georgia) took place the Regional Women, Peace and Security Monitoring Conference
The event took place in the context of the implementation of the project “Local, National and Regional Strategies for Improving the Implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine “. The project was developed by the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders and financially supported by the Austrian Development Cooperation, in partnership with Foreign Policy Association of Moldova APE and Gender-Center.
The aim of the project is to mobilize and involve central and local public authorities, civil society representatives in various actions to raise awareness of women’s role in the negotiation and conflict prevention processes, and their involvement in post-conflict efforts.
Victoria Bucătaru, the Executive Director of the Foreign Policy Association APE, had the honor of moderating one of the panels devoted to evaluating the implementation of the 1325 Resolution on Women, Peace and Security in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Also in the panel focused on the media, was presented the online Facebook platform created by APE (@FemeiaDeAziPaceaDeMaine): “Femeia de azi Pacea de mâine! Dialog-Siguranță-Progres” (Woman of Today, Peace of Tomorrow! Dialogue, Safety, Progress) dedicated to women, peace and security agenda.
