The Republic of Moldova is very close to becoming a politically and institutionally failed state that will be ignored by its main foreign partners. According to Victor Chirila, executive director of the Foreign Policy Association, the only chance to avoid this collapse is to form a pro-European Government consisting of non-discredited persons and to have an appropriate reaction to the last European Parliament officials attempts to contribute to overcoming the political crisis in Moldova.

Country's politicians consider the geopolitical and economic benefits of closer ties with the European project or Moscow

"We take note of today's no-confidence vote of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and the dismissal of the Moldovan Government that ensues. This vote takes place as Moldova has made substantial progress in its visa liberalisation process and the completion of ambitious negotiations on an EU-Moldova Association Agreement is within sight.

Transnistrias reintegration with a special status within the Republic of Moldova is one of the fundamental priorities of the Moldovan constitutional authorities . To achieve this goal, the Government of the Republic of Moldova is determined to plead for the full withdrawal of the Russian military forces from the territory of the country, replacing peacekeeping forces with an international civilian mission and the settlement of the conflict in the 5 + 2 format, respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. In turn, the secessionist Transnistrian administration rejects from the very beginning any discussions or negotiations with respect to the reintegration of the Transnistrian region with a special status within the Republic of Moldova.

New EU initiative to fight organised crime and human trafficking at EU borders

If the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement and the Association Agreement are signed at the summit in Vilnius, from political viewpoint this will bring Moldova closer to the European Union, the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Dirk Schuebel said in an interview for Radio Free Europe.
