Addressing the EU-Moldova Forum taking place in Chisinau, Kwasniewski stated that Poland supports Moldova’s Euro-integration. In this light, the Eastern Partnership project plays a very essential role, and its results may be very effective. This project is analogous to the Weimar Triangle. However, the ex-president said he is not particularly optimistic about Transnistrian conflict solution.
Former President of Romania Emil Constantinescu [1996 to 2000] said that a transition to democracy is a long process requiring the creation of a Right-Centrist coalition.
“Such transition needs victims, and the coalition has to pay its price for it. There can be no coalitional governance without controversies. For efficient activity, a coalition must have a common goal. In the case of Moldova, such goal is Euro-integration”, said Emil Constantinescu.
Moldova’s former President Petru Lucinschi [1996 to 2001] remarked at the forum that mentality and lack of experience prevent Moldova from taking firmly a democratic development path.
And expert from the Barcelona Center for International Researches Carmen Claudine said that to achieve results, Moldova needs to work very hard day after day so as to develop faster than other countries.
