The Editorial release “Views on the Future of Europe from the EU’s Neighbouring Countries”, initiated by the European Institute of Romania, gathered the contributions of 23 experts from the Western Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia), Turkey and the three Eastern Partnership members of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (Georgia, Republic of Moldova, Ukraine). The experts addressed the European Union’s main challenges and priorities in its relations with the countries and governments in the neighbourhood. Furthermore, they refer to their expectations regarding how the EU should address these relations, and their own countries’ contributions to advancing the European project in their regions.
Among the experts is Ludmila Nofit, APE Executive Director, that referred to challenges and prospects for the cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union beyond 2020.
„Having the European community support and willingness to provide accurate expertise and counselling in the most sensitive areas, the Republic of Moldova needs to seize the momentum of deepening the dialogue and association with the EU.”
